What are the best sources of inspiration for 3D artists, designers, architects?

Story in By Magdalena Szydło, Posted 9 sierpnia, 2022

3D artists, architects, and designers are first of all people of art. They have extraordinary skills – the creation of something which had not existed before, the ability to imagine the object in detail before bringing it to life. They are the creators of great products and picky perfectionists who are able to concentrate not only on the outside of the object but also on its inner essence and functionality. Today the field of activity for such specialists is huge, therefore every year new directions appear. These professions require creative thinking and artistry, as well as constant and additional energy and strong inspiration flow. We would say inspiration is one of the most important things to pay attention to. This is the spark that burns us inside. It helps to inflame a huge fire of desire and strength, with the help of which we start to act and achieve our goal. Thanks to this, we come up with new ideas and dreams. This is a large and mysterious process, which gives us the strength and confidence that reinforces us. But there is no official or scientific explanation of what inspiration is, when it comes exactly, how long it lasts and how many times it comes back. The other thing is where this inspiration can be gathered. Let’s try to think about it.

1. Famous people

The first source of inspiration may become a famous person from the same field of activity. Try to watch what exactly is done by him, sometimes people present video tutorials. If you feel this art is close to you, follow him constantly and check new projects. Nowadays, we may find many inspirational people on the internet, they share their artworks and new projects with us. The more people you follow, the more inspirational content you have.2. Art in real life

The next strong sources of inspiration are exhibitions and international competitions. There you may see the art in real life. Moreover, you may speak with authors, whose works will be attractive to you. Very often you may meet them at exhibitions and ask questions about their work, figure out what are their sources of inspiration for them. You can meet other people like beginners in your field of work or other professionals and talk to them. This kind of networking is the other reason to go. Besides this, going to exhibitions is simply a great idea for spending time!

3. Design websites and portals

The third step towards inspiration is searching for design websites and portals. Millions of them are already waiting for you! Make your own list and check it from time to time. For example, a very popular page is “Pinterest”. Users add their creations to the platform: photos, art, and posters, and put them in thematic collections, sharing with others. “One Eye Land” is the portal dedicated to photos with plenty of galleries. “Dribbble” is one of the main social networks for designers, where they share their projects and details of their implementation. “Designspiration”- selection of logos, illustrations, business cards, posters, packaging, architectural solutions, magazines, and book spreads. By the way, our Viscato portfolio may become your inspiration too, we highly recommend you to have a look at it. Don’t forget about films, books, or magazines about your core skills and field of work. They work the same way as websites.4. Friends

Remember about your close surroundings and friends – don’t be afraid of advice from not professionals. Sometimes you don’t have a decision ready and can’t determine the final result. Even a phrase or just attitude may push you on the right thoughts and lead to the finish. Ask them what they like and don’t like, it may bring new ideas.

5. Nature

A quite common source, but we can’t miss it- nature. This is a universal inspiration for everyone as it has many colors, textures, elements, and forms. Flora and fauna, the animal world is our everyday environment, why not let it inspire us? Sometimes one look at the world around us enough to move forward. Since ancient times, nature has awakened inexpressible emotions in people, inspiring them to create something new and unique. Natural sources of inspiration – this is what surrounds us in the everyday world. Even pets who are constantly near you can become a kind of “generator” of new ideas and thoughts.6. Travels

Another thing you can do- is to travel. New impressions always give a rich “ground” for unexpected ideas, so necessary for the creative process. Many artists traveled around the world, catching inspiration from communicating with local residents, and admiring the works of architecture or the natural wealth of other countries. Someone likes to travel to other cities, someone prefers impassable forests or jungle – find your way.

7. Your own mood

We would like you to remind us about your personal mood. Create a favorable atmosphere around yourself. It is commonly believed – the order of things around you strictly depends on the order in your head and thoughts. Spend some time for dealing with it, prepare your table in a way that inspires you, and put some elements like a visualization desk, candles, lights, and photos. Believe, it influences a lot.
