Drone Photomontage Visualization for the Lervik Project

About Project
Drone Photomontage Visualization in a Real Setting
For the Lervik waterfront housing project in Norway, we created a drone photomontage visualization set that places unbuilt homes directly into real photographs of the site. Working with Fotoetc AS, we merged photorealistic 3D buildings into aerial drone shots of the coastline – matching the light, shadows and perspective so precisely that the new houses look as if they were already standing there.
This is what makes photomontage so powerful for a development. Instead of an artificial background, the project appears in its true surroundings: the existing neighbourhood, the marina, the boats, the rocks along the shore. As a result, buyers and stakeholders see exactly how the homes will sit in the real landscape, not an idealised version of it.
Aerial photomontage and full CGI, combined
The set combined two techniques. For the wide establishing views, we used drone photomontage visualization – real aerial photography with the new homes seamlessly integrated. For the closer scenes, we built full CGI: exterior views of the houses, the terraces, and warm golden-hour moments looking out over the harbour. Therefore the project reads as one coherent story, from the bird’s-eye context down to the view from a private terrace.
What the project delivered
We delivered a complete visual package for sales and marketing. Specifically, the project included:
- Drone photomontage visualization – new homes merged into real aerial photos of the site
- Full CGI exterior views of the houses and their materials
- Lifestyle scenes – terraces, gardens and harbour views at golden hour
- Accurate light and shadow matched to the real photography
- A consistent look across aerial, exterior and lifestyle imagery
Built to sell a waterfront development
Location is everything for a project like Lervik, so showing the homes in their real coastal setting does the selling. Because the drone photomontage visualization grounds the development in its actual surroundings, it builds trust and helps buyers imagine living there – long before construction is finished. Moreover, the same imagery works across brochures, property portals, investor decks and social media.
Ultimately, this project shows how drone photomontage visualization turns a plot of land and a set of drawings into something buyers can believe in – real context, real light, and homes that look like they already belong.
